Keyboard Musician

Advanced Course

The Keyboard Musician course is for students who have completed Harmony Road Book 4, Young Musician Book 4, or Keyboard Prep Book 3. Students continue to develop performance skills through the study of varied repertoire styles, technical studies, sight-reading songs and three and four part ensembles. Ear training is expanded to include dictation, recognition of tonal centers and chord progressions. Transposing becomes an easily accessible activity. Students learn to accompany themselves while singing solfege. Two part singing and artistic repertoire encourage expressive musicianship. Harmonic training develops an understanding of accompaniment styles. Students are given step-by-step techniques to develop their own creativity through music composition. In this program, students become acquainted with major composers and their place in music history.

Classes advance with age groups.  (50 min. class) – $357 per session.

Guitar: Beginning and Intermediate

Ages 7 & Up

Group guitar lessons include introduction of chords, strumming patterns, finger exercises, scales and basic music theory as it relates to playing the guitar. Children will learn to tune their own guitars and practice techniques for learning guitar at their own pace to learn songs of their choice. The group experience will provide children with the opportunity to accompany group singing on guitar. Participants must have their own guitar.

New Students accepted in Beginner classes.  Students who have taken at least one Guitar class with us or have previously studied guitar will be accepted in our Intermediate class.

Beginning Guitar (30 min. class) – $306 per session

Intermediate Guitar (50 min. class) – $357 per session.

Singer’s Club

Ages 5 & Up

Singer’s Club has been such a successful Summer program over the last couple of years that we decided to include it in our regular programming.   Instruction is a musicianship approach to singing, founded in solfege (Do Re Mi) and focused on teaching pitch.  Pitch in a child’s voice is fully developed by age 9, so it is critical to teach these skills early.   As with all our classes, our focus is on the joy of music and singing.   We teach with a lot of mainstream and Disney music, as well as traditional songs.

All are Welcome! (50 min. class) – $357 per session.

Note: If your child is a beginning music student, the curriculum flow chart below will help you determine the appropriate starting point in our curriculum.
